Question by : What does it mean when you are chatting and someone tells you “I just wanted to say hi”?
Does that mean that they just want to say hi, but not chat? Just to say hello and goodbye? Is that what it means?

it means they don’t want to talk for too long but they did want to see how you were doing.

    thats a conversation that they don’t want to admit because it might be akward or they are trying to tell you something that they are afraid of.

    it can be either sometimes just to say hi and talk for a couple of minutes or go on and on in a lengthy conversation.

    lol no, really it depends on who says it.

    But generally the concept of it is that they just want to say hi and have a quick chat, see whats up with you, all that jazz, before they’re off to go out.

    Or it could be an act of wanting to socialize with you without the knowledge of whether you’re busy or not, they may not want to intrude while you’re working.

    I never like it when the chat window opens because it is so hard to know when the conversation is over. After a few minutes I’m always ending it by telling the person I have to take the dog out or something.
