I just got a new powerbook. What are my options for video chatting? Does mac have a freee program I can video chat on? I heard you have to pay for mobileme to use their applications.
Do things change if I’m talking to a fellow mac user?
I heard skype video chat is free.

Yeah skype is free and i am pretty sure it works on macs it doesn’t work on my mac but i have an eMac which is ancient so anything newer than an eMac should work for skype

Use Skype. It’s free between Skype users, and costs nothing. It is also cross-platform so you can talk to PC users who have it as well.
iChat is great, but yes, if you want to use it outside your home, you will have to have a .me account.

You got a PowerBook??? Those were out in 2006, dude. Use iChat.
